CHAPTER 1 ~ Setting up your accounts
Yes, I know. This is the most boring step of them all, but a very necessary one. Let's jump right into it and get this part over with so we can fill your new store with merchandise!
First off, we suggest you open a new Ebay account that you use solely for your business. They are free and Ebay allows you to have as many as you want. A new account will give you a clean slate and you will be able to demonstrate that you specialize in new, quality items only. Give it a professional name, after all, you will be selling a large variety of new items. People can't see you so they will have no idea that you are just starting your business. Make them think that you have a physical store and are established. I can't help you with the name, though don't think too long. The first ideas are usually the best. Don't over think or you will end up with a generic, non personable name. Nothing wrong with "Jerry's". You get the picture. You can use your existing account to sell used items and misc. goods, also to make purchases.

(Make sure you are signed out of Ebay by clicking on the "Sign Out" link on the top of the page. If there is a link that says "sign in" then you are already signed out. Now click on "Register" at the top of the page. IF YOU ALREADY HAVE AN EBAY ACCOUNT YOU WILL NEED TO REGISTER YOUR NEW ONE WITH A DIFFERENT E-MAIL ADDRESS. Next, we will get you some quick, easy and inexpensive feedback. The difference between a rating of zero and a rating of one is like night and day. Let's enter a search in Ebay for auctions that people have set up solely for the sake of exchanging feedback. You're not the only one who needs it! If you search right, you will find them. Click the "search" button at the top of an Ebay page. When the new window opens, click on the "Advanced Search" tab. Put in "feedback" as the search and set the price from $.01 - $1.00. and click on the "Buy It Now Items only" box. This will give you a list of auctions selling for $1.00 or less. Each individual Ebay seller can only increase your feedback rating by one, so if you would like multiple feedbacks, you must win auctions from different sellers. If you are having trouble finding good auctions for feedback, you can find them here. A couple of positive feedbacks will work fine for auctions but you will either need 20 of them, or be ID Verified in order to open your Ebay store. ID Verification is easy and Ebay will show you how while you are opening your store.

Now it's time to open your seller's account. Ebay requires some banking information in order for you to sell. It's very simple, takes little time, and is mandatory.
The last (thank goodness) chore you need to accomplish in this section is to open your Ebay Store. Ebay stores are by far the best listing value on Ebay. A 30-day listing will cost you $.02 per month so you can have 100 items listed in your store for only $2.00 every 30 days. Not only will this allow you to have all of your items listed all of the time for little money, but will also show up in search engines on the Internet such as Google and Yahoo. An Ebay store will also greatly heighten the image of a professional business. Your customer will be able to browse through your "store" and be looking at only your items. The following link will take you to Ebay at a page where you will learn the benefits of your store and the link to sign up. Don't worry too much about the specifics, such as policies and store descriptions, or category names. You can add and change them at any time, we suggest you wait until you fill your store with items and have a better feel for what direction your store is headed.
This is one place that a little investment will return many rewards. An Ebay Featured Store will draw much more traffic, you will be amazed at the results. The best part is that you will not need to pay for the monthly featured store charge until you have already made 10 times the cost using it!
Whatever you choose, the Ebay Store comes with a 30-day trial, so I think you
have no reason not to open a featured store, you can always downgrade to the
Basic Store if for some reason you do not see the amazing results that I do from
mine.
